Yet another month passed, yet another victory for Google Chrome. This time, Chrome has replaced Firefox to become #2 browser on Windows 7 platform. On Windows 7, Microsoft’s Internet Explorer is the top browser.
In operating systems category, Windows XP is still a winner with over 40% users worldwide. Windows 7 itself has market share of around 39% (source). In September 2011, Internet Explorer 9 passed 30% browser market share in United States, and 22% share worldwide.
Chrome vs Firefox
According to the stats provided by Netmarketshare.com, Chrome has 12.7% browser market share in USA and 18.1% worldwide. While the Firefox has 12.6% share in USA and 15.7% worldwide. Hence, Chrome has just won the browser war with its close competitor in USA.
Microsoft points out a very interesting fact: "IE6 has now dropped to 9% usage share worldwide in September and if you remove China’s figures, IE6 only represents 3.5% usage share worldwide.". This is a great news for the web developers, as more users are moving towards the modern browsers.
