Mozilla has released stability updates for Firefox users on Mac. Firefox 5.0.1 and 3.6.19 are now available to fix a bug causing browser crash on Mac OSX 10.7 while using downloadable fonts. Users will be prompted automatically to update, though they can also update their Firefox installation manually by visiting Help > About Firefox.
According to the release notes of Firefox 5.0.1, this update also fixes an issue caused by Apple’s "Java for Mac OS X 10.6 Update 5" – where the Java plug-in would not be loaded. Apple recently updated Java on OSX 10.5 and it broke the Java plugin in Firefox. Moreover, the users still using older versions of Firefox on Mac platform may face some issues with the scrollbar rendering. Such users should upgrade to the latest stable version of Firefox, the Firefox 5.0.1.
Note that Firefox 5.0.1 is a minor stability update released only for Mac users. For Windows and Linux platforms, Firefox 5 is still the latest release.
