Opera Software today released updates for its mobile browsers, Opera Mini and Opera Mobile, on Android and iOS platforms. While the Opera Mini on Android fixes various stability and network issues, the Opera Mini for iOS brings new features like support for iPad’s Retina Display, new data usage option in the main menu etc.
New versions, Opera Mini 7.0.3 on Android and Opera Mini 7.0.2 for iOS, have several stability fixes as well. I have been experiencing browser hang and crash problem on Android since the launch of Opera Mini 7, and hope that this update will fix this issue.

As mentioned above, Opera Mini on iOS has added a new option, “Data Usage”, in the main menu. Users can tap on it to check data saving stats. This option is already present in Opera Mini for other platforms including Android and Symbian. Just to remind you here, Opera Mini works in a different way and compresses data on its own server before sending to the users. Hence, it reduces the bandwidth cost and enhances security on Public networks as explained in this article.
Another exciting feature of iOS variant is support for third generation iPad’s retina display for smoother and un-pixelated view. Opera Mini 7.0.2 is now available on App Store.
