Few years ago, when Google announced their ambitious browser project, the Chrome, we simply asked the question: “Does the World Need Another Browser?”. Well, today we have the answer – Chrome is world’s number one web browser with many innovative features. Chrome has entirely changed the face of web browsers with features like speed and performance.
Now, surprisingly, Yahoo! is also going to bring a web browser for desktop, iPhone and iPad. According to Launch, Yahoo! Axis will be launched today and there will be paid opportunities for advertisers at a later time. The homepage of Axis, axis.yahoo.com, now hosts the following demo video:
Update: So, Yahoo! Axis is a browser only for iPhone and iPad. It is available as extension for browsers like Firefox and Chrome. Users can install Axis from its home page. Moreover, on iOS too, it is just a modified version of Mobile Safari. So, calling Yahoo! Axis a browser is highly misleading.
