Opera Software today released first snapshot build of its next major release for desktop platforms, Opera 12.50. With the Opera 12.50 (codenamed “Marlin”), Opera has started supporting some WebKit CSS prefixes as announced recently. Opera team has already released a desktop emulator for Opera Mobile supporting -webkit- prefixed CSS properties.

Other new features introduced in this snapshot build include support for Clipboard API, redesigned keyboard event handling (DOM Events Level 3) and integration with the notification center of Mac OS X 10.8 “Mountain Lion”. There are various stability fixes and improvements in the latest build as well.
