With the release of Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion, Apple has also released Safari 6 with lots of attractive features and important fixes. Safari 6 for Windows is not out yet.
New features introduced in Safari 6 include a unified location bar and search box similar to Chrome’s omnibox. Apple calls it Smart Search Field. ‘Tab view’ is another new and Mountain Lion-only feature which displays all open tabs in an awesome way and users can switch to any of them just by a single tap. Safari 6 users on Mountain Lion will notice a new button on the navigation toolbar which is for iCloud Tabs. It allows users to open their previously opened tabs on other devices like iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch. iCloud Tabs feature is again inspired by Chrome.
Only disappointing thing about Safari 6 is that it is not available for Windows yet. I’m quite confident that Apple is not going to ditch its Windows users, and Safari 6 for Windows is on the way.
