Opera Software has reached another landmark as its mobile browsers have now over 200 million users. In February 2011, Opera had announced one million users of Opera Mini and Opera Mobile, and the Norwegian browser vendor added another hundred million users in just one and a half year.
Opera’s mobile browsers support almost all leading mobile platforms including Android, Java, Symbian and iOS on over 3000 mobile devices. Opera’s most popular product, Opera Mini, offers server-side data compression resulting faster and smoother web browsing experience even on feature phones and slower internet connections.

According to the stats provided by Opera Software, out of these 200 million users, only 17 million use Opera Mobile. Opera served over 115 billion compressed web pages to the users of Opera Mini in June 2012, which accounts 2015 million MB of data. Opera claims, “If this data were uncompressed, Opera Mini users would have viewed over 20 petabytes of data in June”.
Although, many other mobile browsers have also started offering similar features – like China’s UC Browser – giving tougher competition to the Opera.
