Firefox 12 is an important milestone for implementing silent updates in Firefox on Windows platform. Silent Updates will allow Firefox to automatically install the latest version in the background similar to Google Chrome.
After releasing Firefox 11 as latest stable version and Firefox 14 in the nightly channel, Mozilla has shipped Firefox 12 Beta and Firefox 13 Aurora builds.
This is a big step towards implementing silent updates in Firefox. Finally, Mozilla team has successfully removed the User Account Control (UAC) dialog pop-ups on updating the Firefox on Windows platform.
Firefox 12 (currently in nightly channel) has got one essential feature, which was pending for long. The default source viewer of Firefox 12 now has the line numbers to simplify the task of developers.
With the release of Firefox 9 as stable version, the Nightly channel of Mozilla’s browser has been upgraded to the version number 12. The Firefox 12 Nightly build can be downloaded for Windows, Mac, Linux and Mobile (Android) platforms now.
